Rory McIlroy, the Northern Irish professional golfer and 2025 Masters champion, has curated the menu for the 2026 Masters Champions Dinner. The event, a tradition dating to 1952, is held on the Tuesday evening prior to the tournament at Augusta National Golf Club and is attended exclusively by past winners.[1][2]
The Masters' official social media accounts revealed the menu on Wednesday. Appetizers include rock shrimp tempura, peach and ricotta flatbread, bacon-wrapped dates and grilled elk sliders with caramelized onion jam and roasted garlic aioli.
The first course is yellowfin tuna carpaccio, inspired by Le Bernardin, a New York City restaurant favored by McIlroy and his wife. McIlroy told the Irish Independent that the bacon-wrapped dates reflect a dish his mother prepares, stuffed with goat cheese.[3]
He incorporated elk into the appetizers after receiving a large shipment, opting not to feature it as the main course. Main courses are wagyu filet mignon or seared salmon, accompanied by Irish champ potatoes, Brussels sprouts and crispy Vidalia onion rings. McIlroy cited childhood memories of eating champ.
Dessert is sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream and warm toffee sauce.
Wine selections from Augusta National's cellar include a 2022 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru, with average prices exceeding $2,000 per bottle, and a 1990 Château Lafite Rothschild averaging at least $1,200.[4]
The dinner is scheduled for April 7, 2026, two days before the first round of the 2026 Masters on April 9.[1]
McIlroy won the 2025 Masters on April 13 in a playoff, completing the career Grand Slam as the sixth male golfer to achieve it, joining Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.[2][5]
